SPOTLIGHT ON ACHIEVEMENT
Professor Kate McNeil shared that JCCC Accounting student Monica Gonzalez has been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges (TACTYC). Normally, winners and their faculty sponsor are recognized at the annual conference in May. Due to COVID-19, this year’s conference was canceled and TACTYC is working on a virtual recognition. Professor McNeil believes Ms. Gonzalez is the first JCCC Accounting student to win a TACTYC scholarship, stating, “Monica is a great student and a great person!”
Gonzalez took Managerial Accounting with Professor McNeil and Accounting II with Professor Dave Krug – both were thrilled about the news. Professor McNeil also shares that Monica has been working hard on scholarship applications for next year when she attends UMKC.
