SPOTLIGHT ON ACHIEVEMENT
Eddie Adel, Associate Professor of Hospitality Management, was recently featured on KMBC for his innovative approach to teaching remotely—from his own backyard. Culinary arts classes are typically very hands-on, but during the campus closure, JCCC culinary students are learning in a virtual environment through Zoom. Professor Adel admits that his home kitchen is not ideal for filming and teaching purposes, and that led him to take his instruction outdoors. For the past several weeks he’s been doing a lot of backyard cooking, and he’s been recording it for his students. You can see Professor Adel’s innovative teaching in action on the KMBC website.
